I've been too busy to read all the post I'm following, let alone post another one of my own. But I promised, so here are the pictures of Bridge of the Gods - one of the check points during the last leg of Amazing Race.

I stayed the night at Skamania Lodge a few weeks ago. I had to cross the Bridge of the Gods to get there. On my way home I decided to stop to take some pictures. The two on the top are the downstream view. I thought the old farm equipment made for an interesting shot. I'm not sure, but I think the island they zipped to is just out of sight in the picture on the bottom. If you could see up the hill in the woods, right where the bend in the river is, you'd see Skamania Lodge looking down over the river. A pretty awesome location!

I'm sticking these other pictures in, just because I like them. Mt. Hood is what I see when I look out my bedroom window. Although not quite the same view as this. I get roof tops and power lines. Not to mention that this shot is about 10 miles closer than where my bedroom is. The sun was getting ready to go down, and the sunset was reflecting off the mountain. The last shot was taken last weekend from the front of my house. Another sunset reflection, only this time off the clouds. Pretty cool, huh!

These pictures are truly gorgeous. Thanks for posting them. I can't believe you see that mountain from your house! I vote that we all come visit you for a Jackie's meet up...

I second that vote. What fun we would have seeing Mt Hood and all the other gorgeous things in Oregon. Thanks for sharing these pictures, Elaine. Hugs!

I can't make it there to see, so appreciate your beautiful photos even more as a way for me to see the area. I am glad you have a camera and know how to use it! You are right, the farm machinery is a good touch.

Truly beautiful photos, especially when you click on them to enlarge them!! Thank you for putting them up. I doubt I would be able to go all the way across the country but I sure would love to try it one day to visit Oregon.

Elaine... consider yourself tagged and blame Sydney. You can go to my blog and it's basically a simple 5 things you do for your mental health.

Sydney was on a roll with hers. I kept my pretty simple...

Very anxious to see what you do for your mental health.

Ok, that's it...we're coming to visit. When's a good time for you? :-)

ORKMommy ~ Now's not a good time to visit!

The airport's not technically shut down, but no planes are landing or flying out due to the weather, so flying here's out. And the freeways are also shut down due to blizzard conditions. So you can't drive either!

I came here to check in on you. I hope your power/heat stays on and all of you stay safe. I know this is an extra bad storm, but do you usually have some snow in December? Good luck with it all.

How sweet of you to check in on me, Sizzie! Both my daughter & I are doing fine. My grandson is with his dad, which is good. He has a big fenced yard he can play in. My daughter has an apartment, which is not nearly so much fun for a 5 year old.

To answer you question about the snow. . . . Not no, but HELL NO!!

If we get any snow at all, it's just a few flurries. If it sticks at all, it's only for a day or two at the most. And that's only every few years. I just hope this isn't a sign of what the rest of the winter will be like. When we do get snow, it's usually in January!

I hope you get notified when someone posts on your blog. It's time to write something... 2008 was a long time ago. You can blog after we get back from Vegas and put in lots and lots of pictures.

I also read your power of suggestion and I want a raspberry twirl so bad right now that I should give you a real scolding when I see you tomorrow!
